About
We started First Drop Change Foundation - a Section 8 company - in 2021, with the intent to use the knowledge and experience gained from our work so far, to help different sections of the society.
Through this foundation, we endeavour to undertake funded projects and work with different groups, including the underprivileged, in the society. The vision is to tap into the power that Applied Theatre and Expressive arts possess, and use this to enhance the ability of people to be more aware of their own self and their emotions, develop essential skills for life and have greater harmony in their interpersonal interactions.
The roots of First Drop Change Foundation were planted through First Drop Theatre LLP which we started in 2015. The idea behind that company is to use the powerful mediums of Applied Theatre and Expressive Arts to provide immersive and experiential sessions, especially in settings where people are not often used to such non-cognitive modes of thinking like the corporate work spaces, Health care institutes and Educational institutions. These interventions helped us understand the depth and power of Applied theatre and how it can help individuals and groups transform. Apart from these customized engagements, the team has also done several performances for audiences around the globe, through the interactive format of Playback theatre.
Apart from creating safe spaces for the audiences to participate and share about a wide variety of relevant social issues like inclusion, allyship etc, these performances have also helped us imbibe a wider perspective that in turn is integrated as learning into our workshops and learning engagements.
We believe in the use of theatre as a medium for community and individual healing and self-care including during times of rehabilitation
